Marani Reserve Saperavi 2012 – Aged Georgian Red Wine of Exceptional Depth and Elegance
Marani Reserve Saperavi 2012 is a rare, cellar-aged Georgian red wine that captures the full potential of the Saperavi grape through expert craftsmanship and extended maturation. Grown in select vineyards in Kakheti, Georgia’s most renowned wine region, this wine reflects over a decade of careful aging and traditional winemaking.
The grapes for this exceptional vintage were hand-harvested in small boxes, ensuring minimal damage during transport. At the winery, they were hand-sorted, gently de-stemmed, and lightly crushed to preserve fruit integrity. Fermentation was carried out naturally, using wild yeast found on the grape skins, allowing for a more authentic and expressive character.
After fermentation, the wine was aged in French oak barrels, then further matured in bottle for over a decade under ideal cellar conditions. This long aging process has softened the tannins, deepened the flavours, and created a wine of remarkable complexity and balance.
Aromas of dried blackberries, tobacco leaf, leather, and warm baking spices unfold in the glass. On the palate, you’ll find rich notes of black cherry, fig, cocoa, and toasted oak, wrapped in a velvety structure with a long, elegant finish.
